This is a short page. Arunachal Pradesh has thinner publicly verifiable coverage of its school administration than most Indian states, and we would rather publish four things we checked than a thousand words we did not.
State board examinations at Class V and Class VIII are being digitised
Arunachal Pradesh conducts state board examinations at Class V and Class VIII, and the process is currently being moved onto a purpose-built application.
The Arunachal Pradesh State Board Examination (APSBE) application digitises examination-related activity for those two classes: school registration, student data management, the examination process itself, result processing and report generation. It was piloted during the 2025-26 academic session across five districts — Tawang, Papum Pare, East Siang, Lohit and Namsai — and, following that pilot, training for a statewide second-phase rollout was conducted at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar on 28 July 2026 by the State Council for IT & e-Governance together with the Department of Elementary Education.
The practical implication for a school is straightforward and immediate. Student data for Classes V and VIII will be submitted into a government system rather than compiled on paper. Names, dates of birth and class assignments will need to reconcile between whatever the school keeps internally and what it submits. Schools whose records live in several disconnected spreadsheets will feel that first.
Small schools, long distances, and zero-enrolment listings
Arunachal Pradesh recorded the highest number of schools with zero enrolment in the North East in the 2023-24 UDISE+ cycle, at 240 — ahead of Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram over the same period.
Behind that number is the state’s basic geography: a very large area, dispersed habitations, and a school network with many small institutions. A school here is more likely than the national average to be small, remote, and connected intermittently.
That should shape what you look for. Per-student pricing matters more when enrolment is small. Offline behaviour matters more when connectivity is unreliable. And a system that requires a full-time operator to keep it fed is a worse fit than one a head teacher can maintain alongside teaching.

On fees, where they apply: school fees for recognised pre-school to higher-secondary institutions are exempt from GST under Entry 66 of Notification 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate), 28 June 2017 — covering tuition, admission, examination, hostel and transport.
What this page deliberately does not claim
Three omissions, stated openly so you can weigh them:
- We do not name a board for Classes 10 and 12 here. The secondary sources available disagree, and we could not settle it against a primary government source while writing this. Confirm it with the Department of Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, or from your own affiliation certificate.
- We make no claim about fee regulation in Arunachal Pradesh. We did not find a dedicated state fee-regulation statute, but absence of evidence in a public search is not evidence of absence, and we are not going to present it as such.
- We make no claim about RTE 25% reimbursement mechanics in the state. Same reason.
